Trudeau is responsible for housing crisis in Canada,
Canadian member of parliament Jagmeet Singh on Tuesday banged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, saying that the blame for the housing crisis in the country should be placed on him and not on international students. Further, Jagmeet Singh said, only Trudeau is responsible for crisis of housing in Canada.
“Justin Trudeau’s housing crisis has left students struggling to find house. Instead of put all blame on international students, we must immediate action to tackle this problem, “Singh, leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party, wrote on X.
Trudeau is to blame,
not international students for housing crisis on Canada, Jagmeet Singh’s party is in compact with Trudeau’s Liberal Party in the government. In a video message, he said, “let’ be clear there is no blame that should attribute to international students for the housing crisis in Canada. Canada is facing housing crisis is having a strong social impact on Canadians, particularly young people and low-income households. This crisis is also affecting the Canadian government’s popularity.
Among the measures to solve this serious problem, Canadian government has also proceed to limiting of international students. However, Jagmeet Singh called it a “hilarious” decision.
“While facing a serious housing crisis, they are talking about capping international students. That is ridiculous,” he said.
The Canadian MP purposed that educational institutions should have a plan to house their students, and study permits should be issued to universities or other schools that can show a plan to house their students.”
The modest housing crisis has affected large number of Indian students as well. Recently, some of the student group, mostly from India, even protested outside their campuses demanding proper housing facilities. This is very serious matter and Canadian government should think about it, not to take actions in haste.
