Sri Lanka declare their squad of 15 members for marquee event in India: ODI World Cup 2023

Sri Lanka declare their squad of 15 members for marquee event,

as the final date of announcing the team and making the changes approaches, the Sri Lanka Cricket is the latest cricket board and declare the to name their 15 members squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. The 13th edition tournament of the Cricket World Cup, will  held entirely in India for the first time for October 5 to November 19.

The Sri Lanka Cricket have named Dasun Shanka as their speaker after there were reports of him  drop form captaincy earlier. The team also include the name of spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Dilshan Madushanka, all of them who are fighting with injuries during the Asian Cup 2023. However, All three have been named in the side but will be part of the XI on subject to fitness.

Additionally, Sri Lanka will begin their World Cup campaign against  South Africa on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.The Sri Lanka team under the leadership of Dasun Shanaka-led will be playing against Bangladesh . Bangladesh on the other hand will be missing the service of Tamim Iqbal but they have declared a solid squad for the competition.The out of favour player Kusal Perera also returned to the squad after a huge gap of two years. However, the explosive player is recuperating from flu and therefore his availability for the initial games seems doubtful. Perera has a good chance to grab this opportunity since the ODI World Cup is coming, he might cement his spot in the team.

Kusal Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratna, Dasun Shanaka ( C ), Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, S.Samarawickrama, Dunith Wellalage, Kasun Rajitha, Matheesha Pathirana, Lahiru Kumara, Maheesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dilshan Madushanka.
