The first charter flight, under Operation Ajay, carrying 212 Indian nationals from Israel landed at the Delhi airport on Friday morning. In the wake of the Israel-Hamas war, the first flight bringing 212 Indian nationals back from Israel successfully landed at Delhi Airport on Friday. The initial group of Indian travellers embarked on a flight from Tel Aviv to India as part of Operation Ajay. These passengers  observed as they boarded a specially chartered flight initiated by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). It aimed at repatriating individuals from Israel.

Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, emphasized the commitment of the Indian Embassy in Israel to safeguarding the welfare of Indian citizens in conflict-ridden Israel. Further, He also disclosed that, as part of “Operation Ajay,” the embassy will facilitate the return of Indian nationals who wish to return to India. It has established a dedicated helpline to aid Indian citizens requiring assistance. Moreover, on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) established a round-the-clock control center in response to the intensifying conflict. This control room  tasked with monitoring the situation and furnishing information and aid as need.

The flight, which take off 10:14pm (local time), was arranged to facilitate the return of those who were unable to do. Further, Air India has immediately suspended its flight on the day fighting began on October 7. Its commercial operations remains suspended till now. India started operation named Operation Ajay to bring Indians who stucked in Israel during war situation in Israel. On Friday morning, Operation Ajay bring 212 Indians form Israel. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a post about Operation Ajay.

There are large queue of Indians, including students, at the airport to board the special flight operated under ‘Operation Ajay’ from Tel Aviv.
