Actor Akshay Kumar was not sure of playing as a God,
Akshay Hariom Bhatia, known professionally as Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor and film producer working in Hindi cinema. In over 30 years of acting, Kumar has appeared in over 100 films and has won several awards, including a National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. Famous director of Hindi cinema Umesh Shukla explained that Akshay Kumar was not initially sure to work as a role of God in his movie 2012 ‘OMG’. Akshay Kumar said how can I play the role of God. Umesh first worked as a co-actor with Akshay Kumar in Khiladion Ka Khiladi. Reminded about the time, the filmmaker said, “Yes, as an actor. Actually, I also wrote a lot of films (featuring the Bollywood star), as an assistant to Neeraj Vora. I wrote Hera Pheri, Aawara Pagal Deewana, Deewane Hue Pagal, and Ajnabee (among a few others).
So I was involved in a lot of films with him (Akshay), and I met him regularly. I knew him (before casting him in OMG). But it was Paresh Rawal ji’s relationship with Akshay (which was very good) and that is how we were able to meet him very easily (for the 2012 film).”
Umesh explains why Akshay Kumar is one of the best actor,
Director Umesh Shukla explain about Akshay Kumar reply, when he offered Akshay Kumar to playing a role of God in Movie ‘OMG’ in 2012. Umesh said, “When we told Akshay bhai about this, initially he had that thing. ‘This is a God, how will I play God’s character?’ He was in a double mind at that time, because there was another film that had released around that time and it featured Bachchan sir as a God but it did not quite work. So he (Akshay) thought ‘How will I play God’s character when Bachchan sir could not’. For him, it was like this.
But when he saw the play (Kanji Virudh Kanji, Umesh Shukla’s play on which the film was based), he understood. It (Akshay’s role) was a quite fleshed-out character. So he agreed soon.” Further, director said, Akshay Kumar is very punctual, hardworking and dedicated. He learned his script very fast and understand his role very well . He performed also very best while shooting and in actual as well. Akshay Kumar is very adaptive. He grab the things to learn very fast. He learned the script easily and understand it very well.
