According to The Straits Times, a local daily, The incident took place on Saturday after the lady booked a ride on Tada. She booked a cab on cab-booking app, Janelle Hoeden (46) was with her nine-year-old daughter.
Hoeden said, the cab driver suddenly got angry because the road was blocked due to construction of an upcoming metro and started shouting at her, saying she gave him the wrong address and directions. Cab driver shouts on woman and her child and he tells her , “You are Indian, you are stupid”, and that was when Hoeden started recording the cab driver’s rude behavior.
He also called Hoeden’s daughter of being shorter than 135 cm, to which she answered that the nine-year-old was 137 cm tall. The cab driver shouts again and called the girl “very illegal”. The driver then started shouting on woman, “You are stupid Indian, I’ m Chinese…. You are the very worst kind.” Hoeden then replied the cab driver that she is not Indian but Singapore Eurasian.

The cab company responded to an Instagram post about the incident. They felt sorry for their employer’s behavior and said they are probing the issue. A spokesperson for the company told The Straits Times that they have initiated an “internal investigation to fully understand the circumstances”. She added that Tada does not condone racist comments or remarks under any circumstances. Cab driver shouts on woman and her child was a serious matter, according to people opinion.
