Akshay Hariom Bhatia, known professionally as Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor and film producer working in Hindi cinema. In over 30 years of acting, Kumar has appeared in over 100 films and has won several awards, including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. Akshay Kumar recently made headlines by announcing a significant decision. He had formally denied his Canadian citizenship and reclaimed him the citizenship of India. Akshay Kumar finally reveals the reasons why he choose Canadian Citizenship as below.
Recent days, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar spoiled his Canadian citizenship and came in headlines. Because of situation between Indian and Canada, when Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau blamed Indian agencies on the murder case of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Akshay Kumar addressed his reasons to choose Canada,
In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar expressed the reasons why he selected Canadian citizenship. During conversation, Akshay Kumar explained, “I became a Canadian citizen because my films were not performing well at one point, and I experienced around 13 to 14 consecutive film failures. During that period, a friend of mine resided in Canada and suggested I come over, and we could collaborate on a business venture.
He offered that we venture into the cargo business together. Given my cable of film failures, I thought, why not? A person must work to earn a living, without caring of their location.” He said, “When I relocated to Toronto, I got Canadian passport. Meanwhile, two of my films were awaiting release. Surprisingly, both these movies went on to become massive blockbusters. I informed my friend that I was returning to India, as I received more film offers.” Akshay Kumar reveals why he choose Canadian citizenship.
Akshay said, “My career began to flourish from that point onwards. However, I never hope that my dual citizenship would become such a big issue; it was just a travel document. I eagerly pay my taxes, and I am one of the highest taxpayers in the country.” Akshay Kumar said, Canada is not a bad country , it is very beautiful from other countries and one of my dearest film is resides there.
Currently, Akshay Kumar can be seen in the film ‘Mission Raniganj,’ which was released in theaters on October 6th.
